Dubai – A US air traffic controller has been accused of having a sexual relationship with a Dubai court judge.
The lawsuit was filed by the US Marshals Service against John Hodgman.
It said that the judge in the case was a member of the Dubai Police Force, and Hodgmans relationship with her was consensual.
The case is expected to go to trial next month.
The lawsuit has not been proven in court.
In July 2018, the judge resigned.
In a statement, Hodgmen’s lawyer said: ‘It is a disgraceful situation that Mr Hodgma has been exposed to in the course of an investigation into alleged sexual abuse of a Judge.’
The US Marshalls Service will continue to work with the District Attorney’s office to determine the best course of action.’
Judge Hodgm’s family will continue with the ongoing investigation, and will provide updates as they become available.’
The lawsuit also said that HodgMan was sexually assaulted by a Dubai police officer during a traffic stop in November 2017.
The officer, who has not yet been named, is said to have asked the judge if he had sex with her, and that he told her she did not.
The judge said no.
The court has been the focus of an ongoing investigation by the UAE Police into the alleged abuse, which began in September 2017.
The case was referred to the court in March 2018, and the court heard from witnesses who alleged that a female officer had sex in front of the judge.
Last month, Hodmman resigned.
