Judge Tamra Greg Mathis will not be making her final appearance on Friday in the case of her client’s rape conviction.
Mathis’ attorney, Greg Mathis, released a statement Wednesday night saying that the jury did not reach a verdict in the trial.
He also said the judge had “a lot to answer” for the verdicts that she did not make public.
“She has done nothing to defend her client from the charges that were brought against her,” Mathis said.
“Tamra Mathis has made a lot of mistakes and I expect her to do the same in the future.”
The case has drawn national attention, with celebrities including Ellen DeGeneres and the late Sarah Jessica Parker.
It was initially set to go to trial on March 13.
The judge had to delay the trial because the prosecution wanted to continue with her work on behalf of her family, as well as her role as a family friend to the victim.
The judge will be on vacation for the first time since the trial was set to begin.
